Amitabha Buddha created a pure land in the uttermost west beyond the bounds of our world. It is believed all who call upon him to be reborn to his land and ultimately become Bodhisattvas. The Amitabha vows awaken us to discover who we really are and what we want deep inside.

According to Mahayana Buddhist sutra, Amitabha was a king who became monk and named as Dharmakara. He took great vows for saving the sentient beings-'If upon the attainment of Buddha hood all sentient beings in the ten quarters who aspire in sincerity and faith to be reborn in my land, recite my name up to ten times and fail to be born there, then may I not attain the Perfect Enlightenment’

The Bodhisattva Dharmakara, after eternities of self-cultivation, finally attained the Supreme Enlightenment and became the Buddha Amitabha. This means that his grand and infinitely compassionate vow is now a reality, the paradise known as Pure Land or Sukhavati has been established, suffering beings must and will be delivered if only they will have the full faith to call upon his name.

Breathtakingly beautiful!

This thangka really took my breath away. It's incredibly beautiful! The details are exquisite. The painting is very high quality. I love it, I hang it in my meditation room where I enjoy it every day. This is my second thangka I bought from Lucky Thangka. They are both beautiful and both experiences were delightful. This is the place I can trust.

Amitabha Buddha Thanka - Supreme Craftsmanship and Homage to Amitabha Buddha

First working with LuckyThanka was fabulous. They answered all my questions with patience and were tremendous in the purchase process during COVID lockdowns. However when I received the thanka I was amazed at how beautiful the Thanka was in person. When I received and hung the thanka it was late in the day. It look so incredible hanging next to my alter. However, the real beauty and supreme craftsmanship could only be seen in the daylight when such intricate designs and details could be seen etched or drawn into the painting. So detailed and fine, that I stood in awe of the excellence of the craftsmanship and the wonder in the patience, homage, and love that went into making this. om ami dewa ayu siddhi hung hrih John
