Who is Padmasambhava?

In Tibetan, Guru Padmasambhava is generally referred to as Guru Rinpoche, which means “precious master.” Guru Rinpoche is a totally enlightened being, a fully awakened one, a buddha. He did not become enlightened gradually, or start practicing the teachings of Buddha Shakyamuni and eventually achieve enlightenment. Guru Rinpoche incarnated as a fully enlightened being. Through his form, primordial wisdom manifests in the world to benefit all sentient beings.

Silk Brocade is the most popular form of mounting since it is seen as having greater religious merit than other less expensive types of cloth. Framing the paintings is the traditional way to represent it.

All of our brocading work is performed by a specialised tailor with many years of brocading experience. We guarantee that your frame will look stunning and the work is usually completed within one to two business days (very large Thangkas may take a bit longer).
