Thangka art is a form of Tibetan painting that is used to support meditation rituals. Two hand Mahakala is a protector deity with a dwarf body, black in color, symbolizing his changeless dharmakaya nature. Wrathfully adorned with serpents, a garland of severed heads and a five-skull crown symbolizing five defilements, he wields a Kartri to cut ego-clinging attachment and a Kapala filled with blood to subjugate evil. With three eyes signifying clear comprehension of past, present and future, his mouth smeared with blood marks his active pursuit of evil.
