Description
This is authentic Chengresi Thangka Painting handpainted by highly skilled artist from Nepal. A thangka is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist painting on cotton or silk that often depicts a deity, mandala, or scene from the Buddhist cosmology. These intricate and highly detailed paintings are typically used as aids for meditation and teaching, serving as visual representations of spiritual concepts and teachings.
Chengresi or Avalokiteshvara is revered as a bodhisattva of compassion. Our thangka captures this deity's iconic form. In Tibetan Buddhism, Chengresi is an important, beloved figure, credited with transforming suffering into happiness. Buddhists seek his comfort, guidance, blessings, and protection in difficult times. He's depicted with a white complexion symbolizing purity and compassion. His four hands may each hold a symbol, like a crystal mala in his upper right (symbolizing enlightenment), a lotus flower (representing purity) in his left, a gesture of giving in his lower right (showing compassion) and a wish-fulfilling gem in his lower left (representing wishes).
