Description
Guru Rinpoche Thangka represent the figure in his characteristic pose, seated on a blooming lotus throne. He is depicted serenely with a gracious expression, wearing detailed finery and adorned with brilliant jewellery. Commonly, he is portrayed with his right hand in the 'abhaya mudra' - a gesture of safeguard - and his left holding a vajra, symbolizing potency.
The thangka includes various other elements and symbols associated with Guru Rinpoche, such as the eight manifestations of Guru Rinpoche or the Eight Manifestations of Padmasambhava. These manifestations represent different aspects of his enlightened activities and teachings.
