Description
Manjushri Thangka is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist painting or scroll that depicts the deity Manjushri, who is revered as the bodhisattva of transcendent wisdom and insight in Mahayana Buddhism.
In a Manjushri thangka, Manjushri is typically depicted as a youthful figure with a radiant and peaceful countenance. He is often portrayed seated on a lotus throne, symbolizing purity and enlightenment. Manjushri is usually depicted holding a flaming sword in his right hand, representing the wisdom that cuts through ignorance and delusion. His left hand holds a lotus flower on which rests the Prajnaparamita, the perfection of wisdom in the form of a sacred scripture.
