The Asthamangal Thangka is a type of thangka that depicts the eight auspicious symbols, also known as the "Asthamangal" in Sanskrit.
The eight auspicious symbols included in the Asthamangal Thangka are:
1.Parasol (Chattra): Symbolizes protection from suffering and negative influences.
2.Golden Fish (Suvastu): Represents liberation and fearlessness, as fish are free in their natural element.
3.Treasure Vase (Kalasha): Signifies spiritual abundance, fulfillment, and the limitless qualities of the teachings.
4.Lotus (Padma): Represents purity, enlightenment, and the blossoming of spiritual awakening.
5.Conch Shell (Shankha): Symbolizes the resounding call to awaken from ignorance and heralds the sound of the Dharma.
6.Endless Knot (Srivatsa): Represents the interconnection of all phenomena and the limitless nature of reality.
7.Victory Banner (Dhvaja): Signifies triumph over negative forces, obscurations, and the attainment of spiritual victory.
8.Dharma Wheel (Dharmachakra): Symbolizes the turning of the wheel of Buddha's teachings and the path to enlightenment.
