Green Tara is a renowned figure in Tibetan Buddhism. A bodhisattva, she has chosen to remain in the cycle of reincarnation to help others reach freedom from suffering. In Tibetan folklore, she is known as "Sgrol-ma" or "Drolma," and can be seen in various forms, such as thangka paintings.
Green Tara thangka is a traditional Tibetan Buddhist painting featuring the deity Green Tara at its center. She is shown seated, with one leg crossed and one pendant, hand outstretched in a gesture of fulfilling wishes (varada mudra). Her left hand is in the refuge-granting mudra (vitarka mudra), indicating her role as a spiritual guide and protector. Her green-hued body symbolizes active compassion and fast action, and she is embellished with jewels, silks, and other decorations revealing her enlightened nature.
