Description
This sacred Buddhist artwork known as the Kalachakra Mandala Thangka depicts the Kalachakra Tantra, a difficult esoteric theory of Tibetan Buddhism. Above the Kalchakra Mandala there is 5 Dhyani Buddha. The world is composed of five cosmic elements symbolized by these Dhyani Buddhas, according to Buddhism.
The background of the Thangka is red in colour and the other symbols are made with gold paint , The four outside walls of the mandala are shown as a palace, signifying safety from outside distractions and disruptions. The elements of earth, water, fire, and wind are represented by the walls. The mandala has four gates, one on each side of the palace. These gates symbolize the path to enlightenment and the stages of spiritual progress.
