Manjushri is depicted as a male Bodhisattva holding a flaming sword in his right hand, symbolizing the supreme realization of transcendent wisdom, which can cut through duality, suffering, and ignorance. His left hand holds a sacred scripture supported by a lotus (padma), which is a Prajnaparamita sutra (the Perfection of Wisdom), representing Manjushri s attainment of ultimate realization from the blossoming of knowledge and wisdom.
