According to Sutras, when demons attempted to disrupt the Buddha, Jambhala bravely defended him. Recognizing the protector's courageous act, the Buddha asked Jambhala to become a Dharma Protector, to aid all beings. Jambhala accepted and his blessings deliver good luck, long life, higher intelligence and both material and spiritual gains.
