In the Thangka , Guru Rinpoche is represented in a meditation position on a lotus throne as a completely enlightened figure. Guru Rinpoche holds a vajra, a ceremonial object that represents the everlasting nature of enlightenment, in his left hand while making the gesture of giving blessings (mudra) with his right hand.
